Viva Las Vegas!!!!!

Well as you can tell we are in LV......been so busy and have had no free time to think about the internet.....Our flights from Napier to LV were all on time. The small flight to Auckland the worst with damn turbulance. On boarding in Auckland we found we had been upgraded....Yay!!! (We had applied with airpoints) So we were Mr and Mrs Chote to our attendant and he looked after us really well. The flight was great and the 12 hours went really fast. I took my magic Thai pill at about 11am our time and it worked, managed to get about 5 hours sleep. We went through Customs in LA without any hiccups although the queues were long. But after my sleep I wasnt too ugly!! That airport would have to be the worst that we have ever gone through. Filthy dirty, arrogant negro staff, very unfriendly. We had 5 hours to kill before boarding our domestic flight to LV. Which went really fast as we found a shopping centre and bar not far from the terminal. Arriving in LV was exciting as we could see the lights of the strip. We had a limo booked to pick us up. That was a really nice way to start our holiday. The driver was excellent and introduced us to the city before dropping us off at our accomo the "Flamingo". One of the oldest casinos in the city but is in a perfect position for us and is very comfortable. Our room is on the 25th floor and the big panoramic windows look over the Bellagio, and the rest of the strip. So we have our very own water show....just awesome. The room has 2 king size beds, 50 in TV, spa shower and even a tv in the bathroom mirror with stereo sounds. Ummm!! That would be handy at home, then I could watch Paul and Pippa whilst I showered, HA!! The heat here is bloody hot. Last 2 days have been 39C and today reached 41C. Us kiwis are struggling. Todd...u are right the heat is different. Not like Thailand. This is more like opening the oven door and whoomp!!!! it blasts you. We are drinking lots of water!! (Amongst other things!!). We went straight into there time and slept well on arrival which was their night time. Woke up the next day ready to go!!! We have over the last 2 days ventured into most of the casino complexes and my favorite would have to be the Venetian......its just like being in Venice. We tend to walk awhile then disappear into a complex. Each casino has its own everything, shops, casinos, restaurants, you name it and its there. Vaughan loves the massages!! We caught the deuce bus (bus that travells up and down the stip) and went out to old Vegas town to the Fremont adventure. My god! the lights, the street entertainment, the people, the casinos. This is a street that is blocked off and covered by a huge tv screen. They even simulate the weather and we had a storm while there. Just incredible. We had been told to eat at the buffets at the casinos, which we have been. $12.95 for all you can eat. Yesterday we found a bar not far from us and have requested to watch the All Black/ Aussie game tonight at 12.30am. So will have to wear our All Black gear for that. We were up at 6 yesterday and picked up by limo and taken to the airport, weighed and introduced to our pilot for the morning. 6 per helicopter and we had the best time. Flew over the strip, desert, Hoover Dam, Lake Mead to the floor of the Grand Canyon. On arrival we were given breakfast and champers. Just awesome. The canyon is amazing and everything I thought it would be. Today we met our tour bus to the Hoover Dam. The tour was run by a comedian and she had us laughing the whole time. The dam was really interesting. We toured inside it and walked across the top. At one stage we were on the border of Arizona and Nevada. Security was huge....guess it would be a good target for terrorism. Last night we went to the Palazzo Casino and saw the Jersey Boys show. It was brilliant and we all enjoyed it. Tomight we have tickets at the MGM for ther Ka Cirque Soliel show. Apparently the best on the strip. Then the rugby afterwards. Tomorrow night we will try and squeeze another show in.....we line up each morning and check out the half price tickets. We also have to meet up with the 4 Aussies at Jimmys Margerita bar, but that could be difficult as this bar is quite big and popular but will try., We have been swimming this afternoon amongst the other hundreds.....perfect people watching and very entertaining. The pool complexes are huge. Hopefully once I find access to a card reader I will download some photos.....not all though!!! What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas...Ha!
